You have heard of Black Monday, and welcome to the black and red Monday. The Dow collapsed in a big fall more than 500 points. And if spot gold was the second day of bouncing on the bottom, the shares collapsed with HUI. Today is a good example of why it is preferable to keep the thing real (gold coins or bars) that hold stocks of gold.

Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. (LEH) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Monday in New York, listing debts of 613 billion U.S. dollars and naming as unsecured creditors were hundreds of billion from banks in Tokyo, Hong Kong New York, Singapore and Taipei, among others. Topping the list of Lehman's unsecured debt is around 138 billion USD senior bond debt, followed by another 17 billion U.S. dollars debt and junior subordinated notes, according to documents filed at 1:45 pm ET in the Bankruptcy Court Southern District of New York.

Meanwhile, Bank of America rescued Merrill Lynch, by buying 50 billion dollars.

Wamu also Meanhwile known as Washington Mutual Inc.., the largest U.S. savings and loans, had cut its credit rating by Standard & GARBAGE Poor's, due to the deteriorating housing market. S & P cut its rating on Washington Mutual Seattle to BB-from BBB-, leaving three underground levels investment, the company said today in a statement evaluations.
