Question about reparing my credit?

How long will it take to repair my credit to buy a house if I filed bankruptcy and it was dismissed last year, i had a voluntary reposession and my credit score is under 500 right now and im getting ready to do a short sale on my house instead of going into foreclosure?

right now is hard to finance anything. banks r scared to loan money do to the economy but if you file i think it is 7 years until you can start over again. i would just try to pay thing of one by one

foreclosure after bankruptcy
How long after foreclosure November 7 and 08 September bankruptcy "can get a new mortgage?

I made some errors, but have worked hard to rebuild my credit and have saved money for a down payment. I know I still will be a while before you can buy again. But does anyone know the requirements for obtaining a mortgage? I've learned my lesson so please do not judge! Thanks

You need an account at least 620 credit to buy anything, but I think its foreclosure and bankruptcy will play a roll. I'm going to guess that you will have to wait seven years after the bankruptcy.

Bankruptcy And Foreclosure In Illinois

April 30th, 2010 admin No comments

is there anywhere to get free legal advice in illinois regarding foreclosure and bankruptcy?

Books at a library is a good start. Or go to a large bookstore and read while still in the store.

Specific legal advice for your specific situation is going to require time with a lawyer. You might find a free service in a large city. Normally organized for the poor. If you are a member of a church there might be another member who will review your documents.

Otherwise you need to pay. Expect that filing bankruptcy comes with some costs. Consider a second job if you need more income.
