Bankruptcy Alternatives

Is non-payment of unsecured loans credit card alternative to bankruptcy?

I can not do debt consolidation. I prefer did not file for bankruptcy. A dishonest ex-husband got rid of their debts in me when I was surprised by a divorce from me two years ago after 14 years of marriage. This was in Texas.

In Texas, they can not garnish your wages. The limitation period is four years. You have no legal obligation to pay all that is that old. Most likely, their debts have been purchased by junk debt buyers for pennies on the dollar. They can do nothing without a judgmet. If you threaten to sue you can offer a solution for a fraction of the original debt.

Do agencies Debt Relief really work?

I wonder what peoples experiences are. I have about $ 25,000 in debt credit card and about $ 30,000 in student loans. Credit cards are surprisingly good in my limit. I would be interested in debt consolidation credit card in particular because it seems that these will last forever. Any advice?

Stay away from repair Credit / consolidation / consulting firms. They take their fees in advance and leave your credit card in the trash. Some of his techniques are for stop paying your credit cards until they are completely spent several months negotiating a solution then under the threat of bankruptcy. The work to pay credit card at a time. Thow everything you can on the highest interest rate, while the minimum payment on the rest. When the highest paid, pass the next, until all are paid in full. Of course, you have to stop charging on the cards! It will take 2 to three years for credit cards borne fruit. But once the credit cards are gone, you can begin to pay more in student loans.

Consumer Credit Counselor

Is it better to settle with your creditors or go through a credit counselor consumer near me?

I'm about 30k + of debt and they are all criminals (dismissed). Is it better to deal directly with creditors or through an agency? I have funds to pay off most, but I worry with my credit report and how new creditors can look at my credit. In the long run it is better that landed on my credit report or Credit Counseling?

DO NOT use a counselor as they do not always have your best interest at heart …. which only a job and if you make a mistake of not paying their bills (which should be yourself doing) just said 'sorry' and you're SOL. Just get all your debts credit validated by the office of creditors. Once are ready to contact creditors and negotiate a 'pay for delete "in addition to payment or a payment plan. Be sure to get this agreement in writing what is known to have amnesia. Whatever you do make good on their payments and is slowly but surely correct your credit. Any credit card just short, but not close the account as you want the history of the account to work for you.

Reputable Credit Counseling Services – Which One?

Deciding that you should find a credit counseling service in order to deal with your debt is a great first step towards becoming debt-free. However, many companies offer these services and it can be stressful to find the one that best meets your needs.

You can find credit counseling services in your area by searching online or by checking the local phonebook. A local company may be ideal for you since you can meet with a counselor in person.

Hector Milla Editor of the “Best Credit Counseling Services” website — http://www.BestCreditCounselingServices.com — pointed out;

“…A national company may be appropriate for you if you prefer to have your discussions by phone. Either way, it’s important to find a counselor with whom you can form friendly partnership since you will need to honestly and openly work with them as you improve your credit and pay off your debt over time. Choose someone who you can get along with and someone who understands that situation that you are in. Make sure that they can explain their process and approach in ways that you can understand. Another good way to find a trustworthy credit counselor is a referral from a friend…”

Before committing to any company, it’s important to make sure that they are reputable and legitimate. There are a couple of easy ways to go about doing this. You can check the Better Business Bureau to see if other people have made complaints about the company. If there are more than a few complaints, you may want to look elsewhere. You can also search for reviews about the experience that other people have had with them. If the reviews are overwhelmingly positive, the service is probably fine to deal with. Try to avoid services that have more than a couple of negative reviews.

“…By doing some careful research upfront, you can make sure that you choose the credit counseling service that will be your experienced and helpful partner on the road to paying off your debts and reclaiming your good credit…” added H. Milla.
