Eight months in Chapter 13 bankruptcy, it is too late to add the federal tax liability?
I just got a letter the IRS said I owe them two Grand. I already sent my lawyer and my state of federal tax information for the past years, so he must have dropped the ball and do not add to federal government. That letter, said after the automatic stay ends, continue collection efforts. not fair. Is it too late to add eight months after the filing of c.13?
I think so – Talk to your lawyer and see if you reopen the case. Or, contact the IRS to determine whether the $ 2k is a precise figure, and ask that a payment plan at this point. There is a form you can download from the IRS website that allows you to request a pyament plan.
