World Bank Executive Directors Giving high praise Wolfowitz?
"We are grateful to Mr. Wolfowitz for his service in the Bank. There has been much in the last two years, including the Multilateral Initiative on Debt Relief, the Investment Framework on Clean Energy, the Africa Action Plan Initiative and avian influenza. 2006 was a record year for IDA lending, especially in Africa. The Bank has launched emergency action programs in Liberia, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Central African Republic, and played a key role in Lebanon and Afghanistan donors conference. In March, after a comprehensive consultation process unprecedented adopted a new strategy for Bank work on governance and combating corruption. And we have new strategies for rapid response in fragile states, for the Health Sector and for the financial sector.
