Education benefits for veterans and bankruptcy?

The amount was released under our Chapter 7. However, the VA has exceeded our tax return, and said he still owes. Can someone enlighten us this? I know that student loans can not be rejected, but was a benefit received, and not a loan …
The debt to the Veterans Administration has not been released because it is the responsibility of a public body could be less than three years. See 507 (a) (8) of the Bankruptcy Code. Thus, the reason is not ruled out is that this is because the government, not because it is a loan student.
