Filing Bankruptcy In Texas Creditors

filing bankruptcy in texas creditors
Bankruptcy or Foreclose its soon to be one or the other I just want to know what hurts worse?

After 55 years of top notch credit the economy has finally kicked my butt. Soon I will either have to file bankruptcy or foreclose I cant make the mortgage and credit card payments anymore and still have gas and food.Either the house or credit cards have to go. Im just looking to find out what hurts your credit worse and will cause you more problems in the future. I now live in Texas with my wife of 30 years in a house that is upside down so im not really concerned about it I do own a house in another state that i co-own with my sister and that my mother lives in since she gave it to me and my sister as a gift about 6 years ago, my wife is not on that house. So I have been advised to have my wife file bankruptcy that way all our debts will be wiped out and the creditors cant touch the house in the other state. Im really leaning towards bankruptcy as long as my house that i co-own with my sister cant be touched. It is payed for. Any advise on what to do is greatly appreciated.

Check the bankruptcy laws before you file or even consult with an attorney, some of those bankruptcy lawyers would push you to file just to collect their fees.
