Financial Advice, to keep the home or not?

I live in a house which I overpaid for and now probably owe 20,000 more than I would ever get for the home. My boyfriend has run my credit card debt up. and is now leaving us. My 2 choices are:
1) co-sign on a student loan for him which he says he will use to pay off the truck he has in both our names and the credit cards he’s run up. Then I continue to live in my house and have no more debt, until the loan comes due although he swears he’ll pay it–I’m worried about trusting that. I would have never expected him to hurt my credit the way he did. OR
2) file bankruptcy, move into an apartment, and hope I never have to have my credit pulled for any future employment.

(in case it’s needed: i have an 8 year old son, I’m 27, Live in GA).

Anyone’s words, experience, etc would be really helpful and most
appreciated thanks!

Will the student loan go directly to him or the school? Most student loans go to the school, so he will only get what’s left over after payments.

Bankruptcy should be your very last option.
