declaring bankruptcy on credit cards
Is it worth it to declare bankruptcy to get out of credit card debt? What are the penalties?

I think to fail because I have more debt credit card to pay this debt and have been for some years. I work full time and have a fair income and do not live extravagantly by any half, as I travel, spending tons of money on clothes or other expensive items, or go out to eat / drink every day. I've ridden a lot of debt when I was in school full time and has very little income, so much depended on my credit cards. I want to hear from someone who has declared bankruptcy or made a loan consolidation, which have been helpful or not? What are the penalties for taking such actions?

Because it seems that in Canada (the absence the little flag at the bottom of the page tells me), Bruce deserves kudos for trying, if not paying attention … : D Seriously … It depends on the amount of we are talking about debt. If less than 10-15k in credit card debt, no … not at all. The negatives far outweigh the benefits, I understand the following link will take you a Google search for non-profit credit Councelors contact. Good luck!
