after 35 years in the same company in New York I lost my job and now can do payments card balances high i no, no I a house, rent only. I have some money in my 401 k, but soon I will need that to survive, after Unemployment is up. I have almost 60 years old, what can you do to me, throw me in jail, which could be relieved soon cus I will not pay the rent either. thanks
Whatever you do, do not take money from your 401k to pay credit card bills. Stop paying people immediately. Go talk to a lawyer. If you qualify for Chapter 7, I want to go that route. His retirement will be safe from bankruptcy, and credit card debt is gone. Without those payments, you can move into a modest home, and that will help you live within its means present and preserve as much as possible 401k. Do not waste energy lamenting mental I can not control. Make the tough decisions, cuts of this debt and be a survivor. You will never regret.
