Is Husband Responsible For My Credit Card Debt Incurred Before Marriage?
We married in California, now live in Wisconsin. I have Credit Card debt, incurred before marriage. I lost my job, we moved to Wisconsin, because the cost of living was cheaper, but I still cannot afford my Credit Card payments and will probably have to file for some sort of Bankruptcy. Will my husband be responsible for my debt. This will, most likely, result in him divorcing me.
I DO understand that this is MY debt and I feel very badly that my inability to pay it off might affect him, negatively.
Sgt. Big Red said it best, he is totally correct any debts acquired before marriage are yours and yours alone.
And yes I am the one that reported the others for not answering the question, ranting, insulting other members and point gaming.
