What can happen if a credit card company is suing you had one third expected to pay the bills?

Today my roommate got a call from Chase Card shows that will bring before the courts. She has been making payments of over $ 100 per month Consolidated Credit Counseling Services for almost two years and his debt was paid nearly out. I think it was around $ 2400 or not. Chase said the payments were late or absent from CCCS and even has about $ 1,900. However, Chase gives you the option of paying $ 1,500 now, or whether to pursue. My roommate was not readily available for $ 1,500. It I did not know that bills are not paid because statements were coming. In addition, there is nothing in writing came as a warning for the trial. Chase said he has sent to the CCCS, never notified my roommate. Is there anything I can do? Suggestions?

Contact CCCS immediately! Did you check canceled by the CCCS, showing that cash their checks? Make copies of them and give them the credit card company. Complaint with the Better Business Bureau CCCS, complain to the agency licensing of CCCS, writing many letters (and keep copies) the CCCS.
