Human race has lost the opportunity to create and democracy worldwide secular liberal?
In my opinion, the post-Cold War world mid to late 1990 promised much in the way of creating a global, liberal and democratic consensus: the leaders left the White House and Downing Street, imminent monetary union in most of the EU, increasing talk of free trade and Debt Relief, and a willingness to deal with human impact on the environment environment. However, it seems that the current policy has been hijacked by neo-conservatives, Christian fundamentalists corporate, personified by Bush and Blair, while the rise of religious fundamentalism and terrorism has blunted the leftist "principles of Democrats and New Labour in a way that let the neocons ride everywhere. This has resulted in constituencies dominated by fear, the growing power of multinational corporations, the mess in Iraq, the ignorance of the genocide in Africa and the destruction of the peace process in the Middle East. Can we create the dream after the war, liberals, secular government and global?
The human race has quite yet reached the point where it is unsalvageable. Not yet …
