What company is better or what is best for credit card debt?
What is best for the Debt Relief credit card: American Financial Services (http://www.americanfinancialservice.org/) or DEBR Federal Aid System (http://www.fdrs.org)? Has anyone had any experience with any of them? Or is there something better? Thank you.
I would be very reluctant to use any company that is going to "negotiate" in their name or say that only can negotiate unsecured debt. Many of these companies tell you to stop payments on your unsecured debt. The reason is that I want you to criminal that the credit card company or bank to negotiate. The logic is that the bank prefers to get something than nothing. What we do not tell you is that the bank has no obligation to negotiate with the firm. In fact, you are charged a fee (or a "donation") to make something you could do. Basically, this is a tactic debt-consolidation with an emphasis on the "CON". You get fooled into thinking that the problem is solved. The truth is that debt is not the problem, is a symptom. The problem is the behavior that got into debt and the problem must be addressed. From personal experience, you have to do the man in the mirror behave and clean up your mess. That's not going to be the easy way, but morally and ethically, is the right way.
